This painting addresses a Tjukurpa (story) that was passed down to Rosemary through her Grandmother. The work speaks of the land in Watarru, where many rock-holes lay in abundance and close formation. The Watarru site holds many sacred dreaming, one of which being the great Serpent that can be seen in the form of a long, winding lake. A lake which is still considered dangerous. Rosemary paints both with a punu (wooden stick) and a brush. She is known for her striking contrasts of colour, of which she has honed over the years. Her paintings detail an incredible abundance of cultural mapping, place and story.
