61-26TA, Deborah Burton, Acrylic on Belgian Linen, 100 x 122.
Debra’s mother and father moved from Ernabella to Amata early 1960. Debra has been painting at Tjala Arts (formerly Minymaku Arts) since its inception in 1999. Debra enjoys experimenting with traditional subject matter in contemporary styles. Debra said “ I used to go to school in Amata. Some of the teachers used to teach us how to do painting. Now I got three sons and I’m still doing painting in Amata because it is good.”
