BIOGRAPHY

Nami was born and raised in Ernabella Community. Her father was born at Kuntjanu (Wati Wanampi) and his Country is around Pipalyatjara. Her mother's Country is Wamitja, near Kenmore Park. Nami went to school in Ernabella and trained to be a teacher and later worked at Ernabella School. She has two children and four grandchildren.

When Nami was a child, her grandmother and mother would tell her stories around the campfire, and she remembers going to sleep hearing the Minyma Kutjara story. This is her mother’s Tjukurpa, and she is telling it through her painting.
