Anita Pumani

Anita Pumani work often references Antara, an important women’s site close to Mimili community, and speaks about the Maku (witchetty grub) Tjukurpa. She has collaborated with her mother and her sisters on several works speaking about the Seven Sisters Story, which is deeply engrained in her family line.

Anita is a Mimili Maku Arts art centre director and represents Mimili Maku Arts as a board member for the APY Art Centre Collective. 

 

Sandra Pumani

She was raised in Mimili community by her mother, respected artist and community leader Ngupulya Pumani, and her grandparents, renowned artist and Elder Milatjari Pumani. Sandra has held respected leadership positions in her community since 2004 and is known for championing education initiatives for Anangu children.

Sandra began painting at APY Studio Adelaide in 2022 and is the Chairperson of the APY Art Centre Collective.
